History: From 1956 to 1960, Bob Ingalls' UConn Huskies were the undisputed kings of the Yankee Conference — winning five straight titles and going 18 consecutive conference games without a loss. Standout runner Lenny King ran for 777 yards and 13 touchdowns in 1956 alone as UConn outscored Yankee Conference opponents 135-19 that season, and the Huskies didn't lose a league game until October of their final championship year. It remains the longest sustained run of dominance in UConn football history.
