V-NECK MESH ROAD JERSEY HONORING THE 1949 BALTIMORE ELITE GIANTS
History: Joe Black was 25 years old and pitching the most important game of his Negro League career. On September 18, 1949, at Bugle Field in Baltimore, he took the mound for the Elite Giants against the Chicago American Giants in the championship clincher — and threw all nine innings, surrendering four runs but holding on for a 5-4 win that gave Baltimore the Negro American League title. Three years later, Black would become the first Black pitcher to win a World Series game, throwing for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Made from breathable knit mesh with tackle twill appliqué lettering and logos, this jersey is inspired by the away uniform worn by the 1949 Baltimore Elite Giants
