THE NY CUBANS — ONE OF NYC’S GREAT NEGRO LEAGUE TEAMS
History: The Cubans can trace their roots to two teams called the Cuban Stars (East and West). Owner Alex Pompez established his club in the Negro National League in 1935 and stocked it with an international assortment of mostly players from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. Home games were often played at the Polo Grounds or Yankee Stadium. Standout players for the Cubans include Luis Tiant, Sr., Minnie Minoso, and the great Cuban star Martín Dihigo (who wore the number 17).
Made from classic and comfortable cotton twill, this button-down jersey replicates the Cubans iconic on-field uniform.
