WOOL BALLCAP WORN BY THE 1945 KANSAS CITY MONARCHS
History: One of the most renowned Negro Leagues teams of all time, the Kansas City Monarchs produced fourteen Hall of Famers, from Bullet Rogan in the 1920s to Ernie Banks in the early 1950s. Made up of players from the All Nations barnstorming team and the Army’s 25th Infantry Wreckers, the Monarchs got their start in 1920 and played through 1965.
The 1945 squad included Satchel Paige and Jackie Robinson in his professional debut, who hit over .370 during the season before signing with Brooklyn. To honor that team, we recreated their on-field cap, complete with genuine wool broadcloth and felt lettering.
